This country report is one of a set of case studies undertaken as part of the Strategic Joint Evaluation of the Collective International Development and Humanitarian Assistance Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This report presents findings on the relevance, coherence, effectiveness and efficiency of the international response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Georgia, and highlights lessons for future crises. Georgia, an upper-middle income country in the Eurasia region, was severely hit by the pandemic in terms of number of deaths and faced unique challenges in responding to the pandemic. A strong coordination mechanism and solid relationships with providers enabled a coherent and relevant response. However, despite significant support, vaccination rates remained low.
