Through Peer Reviews on Development Finance Statistics, members of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) and the OECD jointly assess how countries collect, report and disseminate data on their development co-operation. These reviews help countries respond to the increasing demand for comprehensive, reliable and accessible statistics on development finance, in a context of frequent changes to reporting requirements, staff-turnover and often complex, decentralised reporting systems.
Czechia has been diligent in its reporting, adopting a conservative approach to counting in-donor refugee costs. The country is encouraged to investigate various options with regards to improving the current system, either by upgrading ODAStat.cz or by adopting a new system. The review notes the importance of documenting the data collection process, preparing personalised materials per institution to facilitate reporting, and recommends to leverage all existing tools for data analysis and visualisation, including the OECD Czechia Development co-operation profile, the OECD Data Explorer or the EU Explorer.
