To transform food systems, sound evidence is needed as the basis for effective policy action. To explore this topic, three deep dives across OECD countries were undertaken focusing on food insecurity and food assistance programmes, gender and food systems, and environmental impacts along food supply chains. These studies demonstrated considerable evidence gaps, but also identified roadmaps to overcome these.
