The Economic Convergence Scoreboard, first launched as a pilot in 2023, is a tool for monitoring and assessing the Western Balkans' progress towards economic convergence with the European Union (EU). Now in its third edition, the Scoreboard continues to support policy makers in identifying priority areas for accelerating growth and narrowing the region's economic gap with the EU. It draws on 38 indicators grouped into five policy clusters that are essential for sustainable and inclusive growth: infrastructure and connectivity, skills, the business environment, digital transformation, and greening.
In addition, this edition introduces, for the first time, a dedicated macro-financial stability cluster. This new cluster assesses the macroeconomic fundamentals and financial conditions that provide the enabling environment for sustainable economic growth and convergence with the EU.
