12/09/2024 – The Global Forum Secretariat, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), successfully delivered a two-day virtual workshop on the automatic exchange of financial account information (AEOI) on 9-10 September 2024. The event brought together 202 participants from the Mongolian financial industry and governmental institutions, including from the Ministry of Finance, the Mongolian Tax Administration, the Bank of Mongolia, and the Financial Regulatory Commission.

Participants were introduced to the key requirements of the AEOI standard, and the event helped them better understand due diligence and reporting obligations for financial institutions when implementing the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and the legal and regulatory framework needed to ensure compliance with CRS obligations, in preparation for Mongolia’s first automatic exchanges in 2026.
The Global Forum is the leading multilateral body mandated to ensure that jurisdictions around the world adhere to and effectively implement both the exchange of information on request standard and the standard of automatic exchange of information. These objectives are achieved through a robust monitoring and peer review process.
