This webinar will introduce the new Management Scheme on Countering the Illegal Trade of Pesticides available in the IOMC Toolbox and demonstrate how it can help countries turn global commitments into practical action.
The Management Scheme supports the implementation of the Global Framework on Chemicals – For a Planet Free of Harm from Chemicals and Waste (GFC), adopted in 2023 to advance the sound management of chemicals and waste. Through five strategic objectives and 28 targets, the GFC provides a roadmap for action across the chemicals lifecycle. In particular, Target A4 calls for the prevention of illegal trade and traffic of chemicals and waste by 2030.
The webinar will show how countries can use the Management Scheme to translate GFC objectives and targets into concrete national action.
