This webinar will explain what pesticide residues are, present the concept of Current Good Agricultural Practice (cGAP), describe how supervised residue trials are carried out and how Supervised Trials Median Residue (STMR) values and Highest Residue values are derived, and outline how these data are translated into enforceable Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs).
It will then introduce practical tools: the OECD MRL Calculator for deriving MRLs from trial data and the FAO crop clusters used to support harmonisation of residue assessments.
The following topic will focus on dietary risk assessment conducted by JMPR to support the MRL setting by the Codex Alimentarius.
