The Ministerial Meeting on Productivity and Informality “Towards Productive Economies: Confronting Informality in Latin America,” was held in Lima, Peru, on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The event was jointly organised by the OECD Global Forum on Productivity, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru (MEF), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The meeting brought together ministers, policymakers, researchers, and representatives from international organisations and civil society to discuss effective strategies to tackle informality and foster more productive, inclusive, and resilient economies across the region.
Objectives of the meeting included:
- Discussing the latest evidence on the linkages between informality and the distribution of firm productivity and productivity growth
- Sharing successful policy experiences in addressing informality and productivity growth
- Facilitating dialogue between Latin American countries and partners from other regions
- Generating practical recommendations to support inclusive economic development
