The OECD Emerging Markets Forum provides a platform for cross-regional dialogue between OECD Members and partner countries to bridge policy gaps and advance shared solutions to global issues.
On 28-29 April 2026, the OECD will convene the first OECD Critical Minerals Forum as part of the OECD Emerging Markets Forum series. This invitation-only, multi-stakeholder event will foster dialogue on responsible investment, trade, and cross- and intra-regional cooperation on critical minerals.
The inaugural OECD Emerging Markets Forum in 2025 focused on sustainable infrastructure and leveraging connectivity to build resilient value chains, which in turn encourages competitiveness, leading to sustainable economic development. The event was hosted by the OECD Istanbul Centre and the Government of Türkiye.
The first Forum brought together high-level policy makers, including ministers and vice ministers from OECD member and non-member countries. Following opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Trade Minister of Türkiye and OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, discussions covered strengthening multilateral co-operation, supporting sustainable infrastructure, developing multi-modal transport corridors and promoting successful value chain integration.
