International student mobility refers to the share of international tertiary students enrolled in a country relative to the total number of tertiary students in that country.
International students are defined as those who completed their prior education in a different country and do not reside permanently in the host country. In cases where data on international students are unavailable, foreign students – identified by their citizenship differing from that of the host country – may be used as a proxy.
This indicator is measured as a percentage of all tertiary students in the destination country.
