Dashboard for social protection for long-term care
This dashboard examines the adequacy and effectiveness of public social protection for long-term care (LTC). It allows users to compare total LTC costs, the share of costs covered by public social protection, and the out-of-pocket costs faced by older people (aged 65 and over) across countries and subnational areas. Results can be explored by level of LTC needs and care setting, distinguishing between home care and institutional care. The dashboard also shows how public social protection reduces theoretical poverty risks among older people with LTC needs, comparing poverty rates with and without public social protection against the baseline poverty rate for all people aged 65 and over.
