The OECD Internship Programme brings highly qualified and motivated university students from diverse backgrounds into the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development. Each year, around 700 students from all around the globe come to intern and gain exposure to high-level policy analysis and design.
What does the OECD do and what global challenges does it address?
The OECD is an international organisation that partners with governments worldwide to shape better policies for better lives. The Organisation works closely with policy makers, stakeholders, and citizens to establish evidence-based international standards and address various social, economic, and environmental challenges.
It is a unique forum and knowledge hub for data, analysis and best practices in public policy. Its core aim is to set international standards and support their implementation – and help countries forge a path towards stronger, fairer and cleaner societies.
What do interns learn and contribute to during the programme?
Interns gain first-hand experience of how evidence is translated into policymaking, while contributing to the Organisation’s work and that of its Member countries. They participate in policy analysis, collaborate with experts, and develop practical, hands-on skills.
What is the working environment like for OECD interns?
The environment is open, supportive and collaborative. Interns are encouraged to contribute from their first days, work closely with teams, and take on responsibilities. They benefit from engaging directly with experts and policymakers and learning daily, even through informal interactions.
