Teacher shortages are a major issue. Ahead of the launch of the OECD’s Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS), this OECD webinar explores practical solutions to reverse the trend and look at why the upcoming TALIS survey results, the largest teacher survey in the world, will matter more than ever before. Conducted by the OECD, it sampled about 280 000 teachers in 17 000 schools across over 50 education systems. The report highlights teachers’ experiences in the classroom, information about their working conditions and professional development, and examines themes including AI in education and increasingly diverse student populations.
By capturing the voices of teachers and principals, TALIS helps policymakers and education leaders craft informed strategies to improve teaching quality and learning environments.
