The series consists of four events. The first three virtual sessions will each focus on different aspects of return and reintegration following displacement due to conflict or natural disasters. Each seminar is structured around key questions, with expert presentations designed to initiate discussions and provide insights. Participating countries and organisations are encouraged to contribute their experiences under each theme to enrich the dialogue.
The series will conclude with an in-person/hybrid event focused on diaspora engagement and the role of diasporas in supporting recovery and economic growth in home countries, extending beyond conflict contexts. This final session will explore how countries can effectively engage their diaspora from afar and facilitate potential returns from abroad.
The insights generated from these discussions will also inform the Return and Reintegration Policy Review for Ukraine, conducted as part of the OECD-Ukraine Country Programme, which aims to support the development of Ukraine’s return and reintegration policies by drawing on good practices and lessons learned from other contexts. Each theme in the series will attempt to link these discussions to Ukraine’s policy needs.
The events will be held in English, with Ukrainian translation available (if applicable).
