New and forthcoming OECD papers on AI
In addition to confirmed events, here are some recently released and forthcoming OECD papers on AI:
7 February: Exploring possible AI trajectories through 2030
The paper aims to improve understanding of how AI is evolving and explores how AI innovation might advance – or slow down – by 2030.
10 February: Trends in AI incidents and hazards reported by the media
Media-reported AI incidents and hazards offer valuable insights into the types, frequency, and impact of AI-related harms. This paper analyses real-time data from the OECD.AI Incidents and Hazards Monitor (AIM), organising media reports into 14 thematic clusters.
13 February: The agentic AI landscape and its conceptual foundations
This paper identifies the most frequently cited features in existing definitions of agentic AI and AI agents, examines how these features are described across sources, and maps them to the key elements of the OECD definition of an AI system.
Forthcoming (17 February): Venture capital investments in artificial intelligence through 2025
This policy brief examines recent global venture capital investment in AI firms. It outlines actions policymakers can take to foster enabling investment environments, strengthen domestic AI ecosystems and support trustworthy AI innovation across the technology stack.
Forthcoming (19 February): AI to Support Neurodivergent Learners in Vocational Education and Training (VET)
AI and other advanced technologies could support neurodivergent learners in VET settings, including in work-based learning and apprenticeships, and the transition to work. Drawing on insights from more than 50 stakeholder interviews, this report outlines the potential of these technologies, identifies key barriers and risks, and provides policy guidelines to help governments fully seize these opportunities.
Forthcoming (19 February): Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible AI
This guidance provides practical recommendations to enterprises for implementing OECD standards on responsible business conduct (RBC) and the OECD AI Principles when developing and using AI. It aims to support innovation, investment, and growth of enterprises in the AI value chain by helping enterprises proactively address adverse impacts.
Forthcoming (19 February): OECD.AI Index
The OECD.AI Index provides governments with a robust framework to measure national AI capabilities and track progress in implementing the OECD AI Recommendation. Using a composite measurement framework, the Index combines existing AI-specific indicators from the OECD.AI Policy Observatory with newly developed metrics to provide a holistic view of national AI ecosystems.
