On 29 May 2020, the EU4Environment Implementing Partners, jointly with the Ministries of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova, held a virtual consultation. The objectives were to review the in-country situation in light of COVID-19; present progress with EU4Environment implementation; discuss plans for the rest of the year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This EU4Environment country profile for the Republic of Moldova presents a number of «green economy» indicators and draws a baseline for key areas of the project: greener decision making, sustainable economy and green growth, smart environmental regulations, ecosystem protection and knowledge sharing until 2022.

The meeting of the Inter-ministerial Working Group on the promotion of Sustainable Development and Green Economy/National Implementation Committee (NIC) for EU4Environment in the Republic of Moldova took place on 14 February 2020, as part of the Result 1, Greener Decision Making, Output 1.1: Green economy ownership, policy coherence and cross-sectorial coordination boosted, implemented by UNEP.
