Fighting corruption is increasingly seen as a strategic business decision, prompting companies to take steps to strengthen integrity. This has given rise to collective anticorruption action—voluntary initiatives where companies in the same sector work together to promote ethical practices. Alongside legal and institutional reforms, such efforts can significantly improve the business climate and support economic development.
This report encourages the spread of collective action in the Middle East and North Africa by identifying success factors and common challenges. It focuses on Morocco’s pioneering experience in the health, transport, and energy sectors, outlining key implementation stages and lessons learned.
The report offers practical guidance for companies, governments, and civil society actors interested in launching or supporting collective action. It is part of the project “Strengthening Business Integrity in Morocco,” supported by the Siemens Integrity Initiative, and reflects collaboration between the OECD and Morocco through the MENA-OECD Competitiveness Programme and the Morocco Country Programme.
