Engaging employers in the apprenticeship system can improve the alignment between the supply and demand of skills. In particular, employers can ensure that curricula and competences remain up to date in the context of changing labour market needs driven by increased automation, digitalisation and the green transition. This also improves the value and employment prospects associated with apprenticeship programmes.
