The purpose of this consultation is to invite comments on the draft updated OECD/INFE Guidelines for the involvement of private and not-for-profit stakeholders in financial education (hereafter, “Guidelines”).
Consultation on draft updated OECD/INFE Guidelines for private and not-for-profit stakeholders in financial education
- Submission period
- 15 September - 2 October 2026
Purpose of this consultation
The Guidelines have been developed by the OECD International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE). Input collected during the consultation will be taken into account to finalise the Guidelines, whose final version will be shared for approval at the joint meeting of the Working Party on Financial Consumer Protection, Education & Inclusion (WPFCPEI) and the OECD/INFE on 2-4 November 2026.
Development and summary of the Guidelines
Over the course of 2026, the OECD/INFE, through dedicated meetings of its Working Group on Standards and Implementation and through its Technical Committee, undertook a revision of Guidelines. Such a revision considered the growing involvement in financial education of a wide range of actors, including financial institutions, not-for-profit organisations and the civil society, alongside governments and regulators as well as the growing involvement of finfluencers and the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms in the provision of financial information, education and advice.
