The workshop, organised as part of the OECD / Ukraine country programme, aims to facilitate an exchange of international experiences and good practices on policies and practices that can support women’s labour market participation and promote a more equal sharing of paid and unpaid work between men and women.
More specifically, the workshop will:
- provide an overview of international evidence and policy approaches to supporting women’s labour market participation and promoting a more equal sharing of paid and unpaid work between men and women;
- showcase relevant country experiences and good practices, with a particular focus on early childhood education and care (ECEC), employment-protected paid maternity, paternity and parental leave systems, including incentives for fathers to take leave, and flexible working arrangements;
- provide an opportunity for Ukrainian authorities to present Ukraine’s current policy framework, recent developments, key challenges and needs in these areas;
- facilitate an exchange between Ukrainian policymakers, OECD experts and international policymakers and practitioners on the relevance and potential applicability of international experiences and good practices to the Ukrainian context; and
- identify key policy considerations and lessons that could inform Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to strengthen women’s labour market participation and promote a more equal sharing of paid and unpaid work between men and women.
