On 27 January 2026, the OECD delivered an interactive workshop for Programme Operators, Civil Society Fund Operators and Financial Mechanism Office staff working across the EEA and Norway Grants. The workshops focused on making gender mainstreaming practical and manageable in day-to-day programme work.
The sessions explored how strategic, well-placed adjustments in concept notes, Programme Implementation Agreements, calls, selection criteria, monitoring and communications can strengthen programme quality, equity and results. Drawing on real examples from sectors such as transport, health, environment, labour markets and local development, as well as plenary discussions, live polls and small-group practice labs, participants learned how to combine data with lived experience to make early strategic shifts and improve programme performance. Participants left with concrete actions they can apply immediately, stronger peer connections across countries, and access to ongoing OECD support.
