As governments, financial institutions and businesses continue to pursue sustainability, the agenda is evolving, with a growing emphasis on sustainability as a driver of competitiveness, resilience and long-term growth, including through regulatory simplification. The 4th Annual Conference of the OECD Platform on Financing SMEs for Sustainability offers a timely opportunity to discuss how to continue to progress SME sustainability in this rapidly changing global context.
Participants will examine how levers such as finance, supply chains, and digital solutions can strengthen delivery and adoption of sustainable and green solutions by SMEs. The Conference will include sessions on scaling good practices in public and private finance and non-financial support for SME sustainability and on leveraging digital tools to simplify SME compliance with sustainability regulations. It will also offer the opportunity for deep-dive discussions on how SMEs in specific sectors—such as manufacturing, retail, and agriculture—can transition to more sustainable practices. The conference will showcase the latest research and initiatives on financing SMEs for sustainability by the OECD, national governments, public development banks, private financial institutions and other ecosystem actors.
