This international dialogue event, organised by the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE), and DG REGIO, European Commission, facilitated exchange and debate on cross-border governance among EU Member States, OECD Member countries and beyond. It brought together experts to discuss practical examples of cross-border cooperation, including initiatives to strengthen economic development, boost public service delivery and improve citizen well-being in border communities.

This event will foster exchange and debate on cross-border governance among EU, OECD Member States, and beyond. Experts will share practical examples of cross-border cooperation, focusing on economic development, public service delivery, and citizen well-being in border regions. The event will also highlight key findings and recommendations from the "Building More Resilient Cross-border Regions" project for policymakers at all levels.

Topic of discussion
The event also served as a platform to discuss the main findings from the “Building More Resilient Cross-border Regions” project and key recommendations for international, national, and subnational policy makers. Through different thematic sessions, the event explored topics such as:
- Regulatory frameworks supporting cross-border cooperation at the subnational level.
- Cross-border governance and decision-making structures (e.g. coordination bodies, networks).
- Cross-border development planning, including spatial development.
- Cross-border economic development, including a focus on transportation and cross-border workers.
- Cross-border service delivery (e.g. healthcare, disaster-risk management and nature conservation).
This event was primarily open to representatives from cross-border governance initiatives and representatives from national and subnational governments, international organisations and institutions (e.g. European Commission, international financial institutions) and researchers working on cross-border governance initiatives.
