OECD Workshop: AI, Productivity and informality in Latin America: Opportunity or Divergence?

This workshop brang together the OECD evidence and emerging insights from Latin America to assess how artificial intelligence can shape productivity, labour markets and economic growth. It focused on a central policy question: Can AI help Latin America close its long-standing productivity gap and under what conditions? Given still limited evidence, the aim was to share what we know, identify key uncertainties and discuss policy priorities for the region.
