The OECD will release a new report, Survey on Drivers of Trust in Public Institutions 2026 Results, on Monday 29 June, starting at 14:00 CEST (12:00 GMT).
OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann will open the launch event, underlining the importance of trust as a policy objective in 2026 and detailing how governments can leverage evidence from the new Trust Survey.
OECD Director for Public Governance Elsa Pilichowski will present key findings from the 2026 Trust Survey report, covering levels of trust across different institutions, the size and nature of trust gaps across population groups, and how people assess government competence and core public values. The presentation will also discuss new evidence on perceptions of selected public governance factors are associated with trust and translate these insights into policy recommendations to help strengthen trust in public institutions. The analysis will look at how trust and its drivers have changed over time, as well as findings on new challenges and opportunities with regards to political voice and participation, and views on government use of artificial intelligence.
