The OECD will launch the public version of the OECD MAnufacturing Groups and Industrial Corporations (MAGIC) database on industrial subsidies on Monday 1 June at 11:00 CEST (09:00 GMT) in Paris.
Using firm-level data from 525 manufacturers, the MAGIC database shows how subsidies have evolved since 2005 across 15 key industrial sectors, including renewable energy, semiconductors, and heavy industries such as steel and aluminium. It provides a unique view of who is receiving subsidies, where they are being allocated, and through which policy instruments.
An accompanying report will present key findings observed over the past 20 years, including the evolution of industrial subsidies across sectors and regions.
OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and Director of Trade and Agriculture Marion Jansen will present the database and report at a press conference on Monday 1 June at 11:00 CEST (9:00 GMT).
For journalists who wish to join the press conference in-person, please register here.
For journalists who wish to join online, please register here.
