The OECD will present its latest Economic Survey of Italy on Thursday 23 April 2026. The Survey assesses the country’s recent performance and sets out how it can boost growth to build a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable economy.
Journalists are invited to an online embargoed media briefing on Thursday 23 April 2026 at 10:30 CEST with OECD Chief Economist Stefano Scarpetta. He will present the key findings and recommendations of the Survey and take questions.
OECD Chief Economist Stefano Scarpetta will also present the Survey's findings at a seminar on Thursday 23 April 2026 at 14:30 CEST. The event will take place at Sala Verdi, Hotel Quirinale, Via Nazionale 7, Rome and will open with remarks from a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, followed by a discussion of the Survey’s key messages with two thematic sessions:
- Enhancing business dynamism, including Italy’s reform of business incentives, firm growth, innovation and the role of global value chains in a changing geopolitical context.
- Engaging youth in the labour market, focusing on school-to-work transitions, vocational education reforms, skills development and labour market inclusion.
Each session will feature contributions from OECD experts, Italian authorities, academics and representatives of European institutions, followed by a Q&A discussion. The event will conclude with closing remarks from a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
