Highlights
6-7 February, all day: Inaugural Conference of the International Association for Safe and Ethical AI (IASEAI ‘25). Speakers include OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and Nobel Prize laureates, Maria Ressa, Joseph Stiglitz and Geoffrey Hinton. 7 February, 11:30 – 13:00 CET: Launch of the Reporting Framework for the G7 Hiroshima Process International Code of Conduct for Organistions Developing Advanced AI Systems at OECD Headquarters, Paris, room CC12 in the presence of Jerry Sheehan, OECD Director for Science, Technology, and Innovation, and G7 representatives including Clara Chappaz, Minister Delegate for AI and Digital Technologies of France and Dr Takuo Imagawa, Vice Minister for Policy Co-ordination at Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. 10-11 February: OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann will attend the High-level Roundtable on Trust on 10 February and the Plenary Session with Heads of States and international organisations on 11 February.

7 February, 10:00-13:00 CET: “The Challenges of AI in Education: How to Prepare?”, France Education International, Sèvres
Andreas Schleicher, OECD Education Director will participate in a panel discussion on AI in Education: Frameworks and Uses, organised by the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, and Research. Broadcast will be available here.
7 February, 12:00-13:00 CET: Launch of “Using algorithmic management tools in the workplace: New evidence from an OECD employer survey”, Institut Polytechnique de Paris at Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau
Stefano Scarpetta, OECD Director of the Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, will present the results of a new survey of over 6 000 firms in six OECD countries (France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and the United States).
11 February, 13:00-19:30 CET: "Shaping the Future of AI Governance: Standards, Risk Management, and Responsible Practices", OECD Headquarters, Paris, OECD Conference Centre
Jerry Sheehan, OECD Director for Science, Technology and Innovation will discuss key aspects of AI governance, including risk management frameworks, standardisation, responsible business conduct and human rights, during this event co-organised with UN Human Rights B-Tech Project, AI Standards Hub, and Safer AI. 7 February: Steering AI’s Future: Strategies for Anticipatory Governance

It builds on recent OECD work on Assessing potential future artificial intelligence risks, benefits and policy imperatives.
Forthcoming: AI and Intellectual Property Rights: Navigating the Challenges of Data Scraping
This report examines various data scraping techniques, the key stakeholders involved, and the global legal responses to this emerging challenge. The report offers several practical policy recommendations to help policymakers navigate this complex issue, ensuring that AI’s full potential is realised while safeguarding IP and other rights.
