Taking place over two days, the roundtable discussions will focus on the key developments and challenges facing insurance and retirement saving in the region.
Key themes to be covered include:
- Launch of the OECD report on protection gaps in retirement savings and insurance for natural hazards in Asia
- Tour de table: insurance and pension market and regulatory developments in Asia
- Building resilience against disaster risk: the role of public-private insurance programmes
- Expanding access and offering needs-based protection for the vulnerable and disadvantaged segments of the population
- Ageing and aged nations: fostering insurance and savings in facilitating elderly’s access to long term care
- How pension funds and insurers are integrating sustainability factors in their investment strategies
The roundtable will bring together high-level government officials and experts from public authorities, including regulatory and supervisory authorities, relevant ministries, international organisations and standard setting bodies, the academic community and the private sector.
This event is co-hosted by the OECD, the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and Bank Negara Malaysia, with financial support from the Government of Japan.
