The OECD MAnufacturing Groups and Industrial Corporations (MAGIC) database of industrial subsidies is a firm-level resource of subsidy estimates and financial information for 525 of the largest manufacturing groups globally over the period 2005‑2024. It is a tool for monitoring the use and incidence of industrial subsidies across key industrial sectors, which together make up the bulk of global manufacturing. The database provides key information on the value of subsidies across years, sectors, subsidy instruments, and regions. The public version of the OECD MAGIC database presented here displays results aggregated at the regional level derived from the confidential firm-level database, with a view to preserving the confidentiality and anonymity of individual firms included in the sample.
The companies covered in the OECD MAGIC database were selected because they are the largest in the 15 key industrial sectors covered by the database. These sectors include the production of automobiles, semiconductors, steel, and other key products and materials. For each such sector, the database covers the largest firms globally, irrespective of where they are based.
