Ambassador Tomáš Dub took up his duties as Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the OECD on 14 September 2026.
Ambassador Dub began his professional career at the Ministry of Economy of the Czech Republic, where he served as a staff member and subsequently as Adviser to the First Deputy Minister of Economy in 1993-1994.
From 1994 onwards, he pursued a political career. From 1994 to 2002, he served as Mayor of Prague’s Seventh Municipal District. He subsequently became a Member of the Prague City Assembly from 2002 to 2006. During this period, he served on the Security Committee, the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee, and chaired the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Between 2002 and 2010, Ambassador Dub was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, where he notably served as Vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and as Head of the Permanent Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly between 2006 and 2010.
In 2010, Ambassador Dub was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, a position he held until 2014, before being appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan, serving until 2018.
The following year, he became Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Australia, before returning to the Czech Republic to serve successively as Deputy Minister for European Affairs (2023-2025) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2025-2026).
Ambassador Dub is an economist by training and holds a specialised degree in International Trade from the University of Economics in Prague. He speaks Czech and English, and has a working knowledge of French, Russian, and Japanese.
