Web accessibility

The following statement applies to OECD material published on the domain https://www.oecd.org.

The OECD is committed to making its website (www.oecd.org) accessible to all users, regardless of ability or technology. Our goal is to ensure an inclusive and enriching digital experience for everyone, including people with disabilities and those using assistive technologies like screen readers or mobility devices.

The OECD aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, aligned with widely respected international standards. Accessibility is an ongoing priority of the OECD, which we are continuously working to improve.

• Accessibility by design: The OECD integrates accessibility into every stage of the design and development of the OECD.org website.
• Auditing: An accessibility audit reviewing a representative sample of pages on the OECD.org website was completed in January 2025, revealing 86% compliance with the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
• Readable design: Content structure uses proper HTML semantics, clear heading hierarchies, relative font sizes, and ARIA landmarks. Our internal guidelines require OECD staff to embed accessibility practices into digital content workflows.
• Browser, keyboard and assistive compatibility: The OECD aims to make the website compatible with keyboard navigation, visual focus indicators, and with commonly used assistive technologies, such as NVDA Screen reader, iOS VoiceOver and macOS VoiceOver, and the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
• Alternative text and media: Descriptive text for images and captions or transcripts for multimedia content are provided whenever possible.

Full accessibility is a work in progress.

The following are current known limitations for the OECD.org website, which we are actively working to improve:

• Some complex interactive elements, such as charts, maps, or dynamic content, may not be entirely accessible.
• Certain PDFs and documents may not yet meet full accessibility standards.
• Multimedia (e.g., videos) may lack audio descriptions or full captioning in some cases.
