Since the inception of the Environmental Performance Reviews programme in 1992, most of the OECD member countries have been reviewed twice: during the first (1992-2000) and the second (2001-09) cycle. Some OECD non-members have been reviewed, such as China and Russia. The third cycle of reviews was launched in 2009. 

Israel and the Slovak Republic were among the countries reviewed in 2011 with reports on Germany and Slovenia launched in 2012. Mexico and Italy are being released in early 2013 with Austria and South Africa to be launched in late 2013.
