Conference "Closing the financing gap for water in line with SDG ambitions: The role of blended finance"

4-5 October 2018
9h - 18h00
Eschborn, Germany
GIZ Headquarters

By invitation only

Organised jointly by the OECD and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

This conference aimed to discuss effective and innovative applications of blended finance, defined by OECD as the strategic use of development finance for the mobilisation of additional finance towards sustainable development in developing countries, in the water sector.

It convened policy-makers, development practitioners, representatives from financial institutions, philanthropies and private sector actors to examine the commercial perspective on investing in water and the policy dimensions of blended finance for water. The conference was outcome-focused and delivered effective policy recommendations to development actors.
