OECD appoints Jeffrey Schlagenhauf as Deputy Secretary-General


14/05/2019 - The OECD has appointed Jeffrey Schlagenhauf as a Deputy Secretary-General. An American national, he will support Secretary-General Angel Gurría in increasing the impact and global relevance of OECD work, as well as contributing to the public policy challenges of assuring strong inclusive growth and jobs.

Mr Schlagenhauf was the US Office of Management and Budget’s Associate Director for Economic Policy. Prior to that, he served as a senior congressional official on the Joint Economic Committee of Congress. He has served as senior vice president for a subsidiary of a major law firm, after being an independent consultant to political and corporate clients.

Mr Schlagenhauf has an in-depth knowledge of government, national and state legislation and political and public affairs.

Mr Schlagenhauf will join the OECD’s other Deputy Secretaries-General Masamichi Kono, Ludger Schuknecht, and Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen.
