This paper uses “centrality” metrics to reflect position with GVCs. Central sectors reflect those that are highly connected (both directly and indirectly) and influential within global production networks, whereas peripheral sectors exhibit weak linkages and are less influential. Applying these metrics to OECD ICIO data reveals profound changes in the structure of GVCs over the period 1995-2011.

This workshop discussed the effects of growing digital transformation on the resilience of critical infrastructures and essential services which rely increasingly on cross-border digital infrastructures. It explored cross-sector dependencies and avenues for co-ordination among stakeholders within countries as well as across borders.

While the Internet can bring considerable benefits to children's education and development, it also exposes them to online risks such as access to inappropriate content, abusive interaction with others, exposure to aggressive marketing practices and privacy risks. The OECD has undertaken considerable work on protecting children as users of the Internet.
