Indicators of Regulatory Policy and Governance for Latin America 2019

Based on the established OECD methodology, the Indicators of Regulatory Policy and Governance (iREG) for Latin America 2019 provide an up-to-date overview of regulatory systems in selected Latin American countries, by which they develop, implement and evaluate regulations. LAC iREG 2019 is both an update and an extension of the LAC iREG 2016 , as it includes updated data from countries surveyed in 2016, as well as data from three new countries. iREG for Latin America 2019 now covers 10 countries in the region.

The Indicators cover three principles of the 2012 OECD Recommendation on Regulatory Policy and Governance

  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Ex ante Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA)
  • Ex post evaluation of regulations and administrative simplification
