Water demand will increase 55% by 2050 due to growing demand from manufacturing, thermal electricity generation and domestic use.

Managing and securing access to water for all is not only a question of money, but equally a matter of good governance.

BETTER GOVERNANCE IN THE WATER SECTOR

Water governance is the set of rules, practices, and processes through which decisions for the management of water resources and services are taken and implemented, and decision-makers are held accountable.

There is now an urgent need to take stock of recent experiences, identify good practices and develop practical tools to assist different levels of governments and other stakeholders in engaging effective, fair and sustainable water policies.
