During his official visit to Korea, Angel Gurría:

met with Korean President Roh and key government officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Kwon O-kyu, Minister of Trade Kim Hyun-chong, Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs Lee Young-sup, Minister of the Office of Government Policy Coordination Kim Young-ju, Minister of Labour Lee San-soo, and Minister of Environment Lee Chi-beum, to discuss sector-specific ways in which to expand co-operation between the Korean government and the OECD.

delivered a keynote speech at a conference to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Korea’s accession to the OECD, which was attended by more than 200 representatives from domestic and foreign political, business, and academic communities; and

lectured at the Korea University Business School and the Institute for Global Economics.

visited major Korean corporations, such as Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motors.
