06/12/2013 - Ministers from 25 countries closed their meeting on regions and cities in Marseille, France today with a call on national governments to rethink their territorial development policies in order to create more dynamic and inclusive economic growth and to improve the wellbeing of all citizens regardless of where they live.

 

Chaired by France, the two-day OECD ministerial meeting discussed a broad range of challenges facing regional and city authorities – from boosting competitiveness and investment to creating more sustainable urban areas.

 

Marylise Lebranchu, France’s Minister of Reform of the State and Decentralisation, delivered the following Chair’s Summary to close the meeting.
