19/08/2018 - OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría has expressed sadness at the death of former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace prize winner, Kofi Annan.
"The world has lost a great leader, a man who throughout his career strove for peace and worked tirelessly to foster greater understanding between nations", said Mr Gurría.
"A diplomat, a statesman and a reformer, Kofi Annan exemplified the belief in international co-operation as a means of resolving conflict and improving people's lives. A promoter of multilateralism, he will remain an inspiration to us all." |
