OECD’s Gurría welcomes WTO agreements

OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría congratulates the World Trade Organization and its members for their accomplishments at the 10th WTO Ministerial in Nairobi.

“The package of agreements that have emerged in Kenya is welcome news. The WTO’s decisions will help keep trade in step with the digital economy, rationalize the treatment of agriculture, and bring developing partners more fully into the global trading system,” Mr Gurría said.

“To best serve countries in a changing world, international organisations must be nimble and able to produce results in new ways. As always, the OECD stands ready to support this effort around the globe with sound analysis to underpin the further opening of markets, and inclusive growth through trade.”
