OECD-Asian Corporate Governance Roundtable and launch in Asia of new G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance


Bangkok, Thailand, 29-30 October 2015

Co-hosted by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC), the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), and the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD) in partnership with the Government of Japan, the OECD-Asian Corporate Governance Roundtable is a unique platform for commitment by senior officials, regulators, and practitioners - including international and regional institutions and academics - to improving corporate governance in Asia.

The event takes place just after the launch of the new G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance in Turkey, providing an opportunity to share perspectives on their relevance and implementation in Asia.

The OECD-Asian Corporate Governance Roundtable discussion will cover four main themes:

  • Family-controlled businesses in Asia : corporate governance and value creation ;
  • Institutional investors in Asia : expectations and results ;
  • Disclosure of beneficial ownership and control in Asia : survey findings ;
  • Progress towards implementation of Asian Roundtable recommendations.

Journalists are invited to attend the welcoming remarks of Mr. Rintaro Tamaki, Deputy Secretary General, OECD, at 9am, Bangkok time, on Thursday 29 October, followed by a session on recent corporate governance developments in Thailand. At 10:30am a press conference will be held with Mr. Mats Isaksson, Head of Corporate Affairs, OECD; Ms. Kesara Manchusree, President, the Stock Exchange of Thailand; and Mr. Rapee Sucharitakul, Secretary-General, SEC Thailand.
