“Racism? You deserve better that than that!” [Le racisme, vous valez mieux que ça !]
Federation of Wallonie-Bruxelles, RTBF, Plateforme de lutte contre le racismLaunched in 2017
This campaign, a joint initiative between the Federation of Wallonie-Bruxelles, the public broadcaster RTBF, and the group Plateforme de lutte contre le racism, highlights the dangers of racism for society and individuals alike. It calls on everyone to confront their own fears and assumptions about difference.
The campaign is designed around four stories, presenting the lives of Sarah, Isham, Fatou and Lazlo. Through photos, videos, audio spots, posters and more, the public is reminded that no one can be summed up by their country of origin, their religion or the colour of their skin. People are indivduals, with multi-faceted identities: they are teachers, football fans or filmgoers, worrywarts or always late.
The first phase of the campaign was launched in 2017, and the campaign was relaunched in 2019, around events marking International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Resources, including videos, audio, postors and logos, are available on the campaign site.

Fatou is black. Is that all you see? Reducing someone to a single aspect of their identity is how racism starts!
