Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, in Cancún on 20-23 June 2016


Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Cancún from 20 to 23 June 2016 to participate in the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Economy: Innovation, Growth and Social Prosperity.

The Secretary-General also delivered welcoming remarks at a Roundtable on e-Government and Competitiveness and presented the OECD report on Regulatory Improvement in the Mexican states of Colima and Jalisco, the report of the Global Commission on Internet Governance, the OECD/IDB Broadband Policy Toolkit for Latin American and the Caribbean, and the Open Government Data Review of Mexico.

The Secretary-General delivered remarks at meetings with the “Four Stakeholders Group” who represent the OECD's partnerships with business and industry, trade unions, civil society and the internet technical community, and moderated the "stakeholder armchair discussion" with them.

While in Cancún, Mr. Gurría also held bilateral meetings with several high-level officials attending the event.
