Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Tokyo on 15-16 April 2019 on an Official visit to Japan, to present the OECD 2019 Economic Survey of Japan. During his visit, the Secretary-General held bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Abe, as well as several Ministers and other high-level Japanese officials.
While in Tokyo, the Secretary-General delivered remarks at a meeting with Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and at a seminar on Empowering Women in Public Life.
Mr. Angel Gurría also opened the OECD Leaders’ dialogue: Building the Future of Fukushima – 8 years after the earthquake and nuclear accident, and delivered keynote remarks at a seminar on The Role of the OECD in the changing World Economic Landscape, organised by the Japan Institute of International Affairs.
