Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Tokyo from 11 to 13 April 2016 on an official visit to Japan. He held bilateral meetings with Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister, as well as several Ministers and high-level authorities of Japan. He also spoke at the Experts’ Meeting on International Finance and Global Economy ahead of G7, hosted by the Prime Minister, on 13 April.
While in Tokyo, Mr. Gurría will presented the OECD Territorial Review of Japan and the publication Japan: Boosting Growth and Well-being in an Ageing Society, part of the OECD’s Better Policies series.
In addition, the Secretary-General attended the OECD Global Parliamentarian Network Seminar, where he delivered opening remarks, closing remarks and made a presentation on the global and Asian economic outlook.
Mr. Gurría also delivered remarks at a lunch seminar with Japanese business leaders on “Global Economic Challenges and the Way Forward with Promoting Diversity”, hosted by Japan Centre for Economic Research.
