23-24 February OECD Virtual Event
The 8th OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector which will take place on 23-24 February 2022.
The theme of the 2022 Forum is Rethinking The Business Model For Responsible Supply Chains. Discussions will consider key developments in the sector, some affecting the very essence of supply chain structures and the capacity of different actors to adopt risk-based due diligence in their day to day activities. A series of panel sessions will explore which type of business models and broader policy initiatives deliver better practice on RBC, across topics from purchasing practices to supply chain dialogue structures, from living wages to climate risk mitigation and adaptation, and from mandatory due diligence to public procurement. Together, participants will focus on opportunities and next steps for scaling those initiatives that demonstrate impact.
The Forum brings together representatives of government, business, trade unions and civil society to review progress on the implementation of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains in the Garment and Footwear Sector to address emerging risks and to share learnings on implementing due diligence across geographies in a neutral environment.
Registration for the 2022 Forum is now open. The Forum will take place virtually. On-site access to some of the Forum’s sessions may be considered and will be confirmed in the lead up to the event.
Forum side sessions
As part of the 2022 Forum, the OECD will encourage attendees to also participate in a limited number of selected side sessions, organised and hosted by partner organisations. These sessions will take place alongside the OECD Forum on 21, 22 and 25 February. More information, as well as an agenda, will be shared in January 2022.
OECD Roundtable for Policy Makers
The OECD will host a roundtable for policy makers on Tuesday 22 February 2022 to convene policy makers from across key economies engaged in the garment and footwear sector and its supply chain as part of the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector.
This roundtable provides an important space for a unique discussion on responsible business conduct issues relevant to the garment sector, bringing governments from across the value chain together. The Roundtable, an invitation-only event, is open to government officials from OECD members and adhering governments, governments from key economies in the sector and representatives from intergovernmental organisations.
Read more about the Roundtable for Policy Makers here. An agenda will be shared nearer to the event.
