International investment agreements and investor-state dispute settlement at a crossroads: Identifying trends, differences and common approaches
International investment agreements as well as the number of investment disputes have increased over the last decade. The architecture of investment agreements has also evolved during this period and the investor-state dispute settlement system poses new challenges to governments and investors alike.
This Symposium provided an opportunity for government policy makers and experts in international investment law to share their perspectives on the emerging issues in this field and to explore areas where further work is required in order to respond to the needs of governments and the investment community.
This Symposium was co-organised by the OECD and UNCTAD, with the participation of ICSID.
