Indonesia is endowed with outstanding natural wealth. However, sustained economic growth and rising global demand for commodities have strained the natural asset base.

The Green Growth Policy Review (GGPR) examines Indonesia’s performance since 2010. It focusses on assessing its policy framework for green growth and how effectively green growth aspects have been integrated into economic policies and planning processes.

The review was conducted from 2017 to 2019 in co-operation with four Indonesian ministries, five international organisations and with support from six OECD member countries. This brochure presents the key issues and the review process.

The Green Growth Policy Review of Indonesia process was kicked off on 20 June 2017, by former OECD Director of the Environment Simon Upton (left) and Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry was the leading co-ordinator of the GGPR; the Ministry of National Development planning (BAPPENAS), the Ministry of Finance and the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs will be key contributors and members of the core co-ordination group.
